So technically yesterday I was on “Monday mode” since I had Monday off from work so today we can pretend is currently listening to Tuesday- deal? Ha ok so my sister introduced me to this song just a few short days ago and I LOVE it! Hope you do too!
Medina- Addiction
Should I drink another drink
See another light
I know that you may think
That I'm a broken little bird in my mind
Cause I'm falling on the floor
I'm climbing up the walls
And every time I get a grip
I seem to lose myself just a little more
Cause I am here and it eats me up
Well, I love the way it feels
I really shouldn't stay
But I can't give up
The more it hurts, the more I need
It's like an addiction
It's like an addiction
Should I drink another drink
Am I running out of time
Confusion makes me think
This solution is beyond my sorry mind
Cause I am here and it eats me up
Well, I love the way it feels
I really shouldn't stay
But I can't give up
The more it hurts, the more I need
It's like an addiction
And I just can't break free tonight
It's like an addiction
Am I the only one with the sad eyes
It's like an addiction
And I just can't break free tonight
It's like an addiction
Am I the only one with the sad eyes
I can't let go
I, I, I can't let go
I, I
It's like an addiction
And I just can't break free tonight
It's like an addiction
Am I the only one with the sad eyes
It's like an addiction
And I just can't break free tonight
It's like an addiction
Am I the only one
I hope you all had an amazing Christmas (if that is what you celebrate!) Mine was celebrated with some amazing friends and family and I feel oh so lucky to have all of them in my life! I am back at work this week but my sister has the day off so she's going to roam around Boston without me… sigh.
For those of you that didn’t get to watch my sister’s episode of Starving Secrets, you can play the full episode at this link http://www.mylifetime.com/shows/starving-secrets-with-tracey-gold/video/season-1/episode-4/episode-4-desperate-for-help or you can watch it on demand. I have to say, I was really impressed with the way my sister’s episode played out. I think they made it really educational and they showed everything I had been hoping they would show in previous episodes. I like that they showed a bit of the family therapy and my sister’s meal plan when she entered treatment, and I really like that we were able to see some of her actual therapy. My favorite is when we saw her eating pizza- one of her binge foods that she associates pain with. Her face was so cute when you could see that she was really enjoying the pizza-It made my heart melt. I thought she came off as genuine and I am so happy that she was able to share her story and in return get amazing amazing treatment. I’m so happy where she is today in her recovery and I could have never asked for anything more. I did want to take a moment to say THANK YOU for all the outpouring of love. It means so much that all of you have supported her and our family in our recovery so thank you thank you thank you, it means the world!
I’ll leave you with one of my favorite video clips of the penguin, Cookie, being tickled. Have an awesome Tuesday!
Ok so on Monday I posted a video called "Shit that Girls Say" and when I subscribed to their channel I noticed there is a second "episode" soooooo enjoy!!!
Unfortunately I believe I am guilty for every single one of these... especially, "So good right?", "I think that dog needs water" and "Get these chips away from me" ha!
I had a wonderful day off with the Sis shopping and catching up with the family however now I have a cold wommpp womppp, just in time for the holidays! However, I won’t complain because it’s about 50 degrees out.In Boston. On December 22nd.
Who wants to make a difference today with a random act of kindess? If you do, keep reading! Today I wanted to share a very intriguing documentary film, Alpine Zone. The sysnopsis is below, but I wanted to take a moment to give you some background on the filmmaker as well. I graduated with the woman, Kori Feener, taking on this daunting challenge and she is no stranger to the world of filming documentaries. In 2007 Kori made her first full length documentary entitled Where There is a Will. The film follows a family that we graduated with as they try to rehabilitate their son who suffered a devastating head injury in 2006. Links to her previous work can be found below- check it out! Her new project needs help with funding and she is impressively already 24% funded woohoo!! Every dollar counts so if after you read the synopsis below you feel like donating, please visit her kickstarter page. All links are below! I think the challenge that she is documenting is going to be life changing and really amazing, I hope you feel the same way-Thank you!!
The full length documentary film Alpine Zone is about a 28-year-old woman’s journey to rediscovery by undertaking a daunting challenge: thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail. Presenting herself with a test of physical and mental capabilities, and an opportunity to interact with other travelers, the 6-month journey is sure to have a deep impact. Today’s generations are expected to be married, have kids and a career by the age of 30. But, times are changing and with that comes a feeling of uncertainty and desire for self-discovery. Through point-of-view storytelling this film will engage the audience to join in on the experience. The film deals with a delicate landscape, where every decision can be the difference between the end or continuation of emotional and physical growth.
In order to complete this film, she need to raise $6,500 in funds. Kori is attempting to do this through an online campaign on a website called Kickstarter. What is kickstarter, you might ask? Kickstarter is an online pledge system for funding creative projects. The great thing about Kickstarter is when you donate, you receive rewards for making a pledge. The dramatic element is, as the filmmaker she only has 30 days to raise my funds and if I don’t raise enough, I get none of it! Please check out her Kickstarter page here:http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/628286646/alpine-zone
Even if people can’t pledge, (minimum donation is $1) telling others about the project is a major help. Please be her advocate and pass this along to those that you think might have an interest in supporting a project like this!
Today we'll have a double dose of music for this wonderful Tuesday afternoon! I wanted to introduce you to Birdy from the UK. She has such a beautiful mature voice, and she is only 15. Yes you read that right, 15. At the age of 12 she won the under 18 singing category of the annual competition, UK Idol 2008. Her prize was to go into a recording studio for 6 days. My favorite song that she has on Youtube is a cover of Skinny Love. She is amazing. Her album was released on ITunes November 7th of this year. Check her out, you will NOT be disappointed! Her voice is addicting!
It is my dream to someday visit Italy. When I was younger I made up this crazy theory that I would know I was successful at my job/life if I could take my whole family to Italy… welpppppp that hasn’t happened yet but it’s still a big dream of mine!
You’re probably wondering how this relates to Currently Listening to Tuesdays and here you go- One of my favorite shows, So You Think You Can Dance featured the song Dancing by Elisa Toffoli an Italian singer. She has released quite a few albums and is simply amazing! I never thought she would come to the US to perform but SHE DID two years ago and I was lucky enough to see her for my birthday! It was at a little bar in Cambridge and it was such an experience to see her live in a small venue. She is brilliantly magnificent live. One second she is singing a love song and the next she is rocking out.
She recently released a new single that I want to share with you in addition to showing you the contemporary dance from the show So You Think You Can Dance featuring dancers: Lacey and Kameron choreographed by Mia Michaels.
I’ve always loved photography, even though I’m not great at taking pictures, I always admire those that do, and do it well. There is something so special about being able to capture moments in time…. Ahhhh I just love it! On any given weekend you will find me perusing my old photos usually laughing hysterically.
Today I want to introduce you to a MAGNIFICENT photographer, Jason Lee. He created a photojournal online of his two children, Kristin and Kayla. Jason’s mother was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma in 2006 and couldn’t spend time with her granddaughters. Lee began snapping pictures of Kristin and Kayla and posting them to a blog to share with his mother. What started as a blog evolved into a more complex personal project documenting this children’s growth using a variety of lighting techniques and showcasing Lee’s creativity and talent as a photographer. Lee released a photobook called “Where’s my birthday cake” showcasing his talent that was released in 2009.(source: http://www.oceusa.com/main/article_details.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302070169&CONTENT%3C%3Ecnt_id=10134198673392)
I put together a collage of my favorite photos he has taken of his daughters but be sure to check out his blog and Facebook below as well!
I hope you all had a lovely weekend! This week is stressing me out a bit even though I only have a 4 day work week. I think I'm finally starting to get sick, I have a TON of cleaning to do and the sis comes home on Wednesday. Ok that's all for my Monday morning rant... now on to the fun stuff!!
So I was up getting ready for work this morning and I was debating which funny video I should show today on the blog. I'd heard of one and looked up "Things girls say".... so I did, and I was hysterically laughing the whole time!! It's a guy impersonating women's behaviors and it is AMAZING! Hope you enjoy!!
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it. The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience…I will dispense this advice now.
Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth; oh never mind; you will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded. But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can’t grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked….You are NOT as fat as you imagine.
Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind; the kind that blindside you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday.
Do one thing every day that scares you.
Sing.
Don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts, don’t put up with people who are reckless with yours.
Floss.
Don’t waste your time on jealousy; sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes you’re behind…the race is long, and in the end, it’s only with yourself.
Remember the compliments you receive, forget the insults; if you succeed in doing this, tell me how.
Keep your old love letters; throw away your old bank statements.
Stretch.
Don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what you want to do with your life…the most interesting people I know didn’t know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives, some of the most interesting 40 year olds I know still don’t.
Get plenty of calcium.
Be kind to your knees, you’ll miss them when they’re gone.
Maybe you’ll marry, maybe you won’t, maybe you’ll have children, maybe you won’t, maybe you’ll divorce at 40, maybe you’ll dance the funky chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary…whatever you do, don’t congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself either – your choices are half chance, so are everybody else’s.
Enjoy your body, use it every way you can…don’t be afraid of it, or what other people think of it, it’s the greatest instrument you’ll ever own..
Dance…even if you have nowhere to do it but in your own living room.
Read the directions, even if you don’t follow them.
Do NOT read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly.
Get to know your parents; you never know when they’ll be gone for good.
Be nice to your siblings; they are the best link to your past and the people most likely to stick with you in the future.
Understand that friends come and go, but for the precious few you should hold on. Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and lifestyle because the older you get, the more you need the people you knew when you were young.
Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard; live in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft.
Travel.
Accept certain inalienable truths, prices will rise, politicians will philander, you too will get old, and when you do you’ll fantasize that when you were young prices were reasonable, politicians were noble and children respected their elders.
Respect your elders.
Don’t expect anyone else to support you. Maybe you have a trust fund, maybe you have a wealthy spouse; but you never know when either one might run out.
Don’t mess too much with your hair, or by the time you're 40, it will look 85.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it’s worth.
I got to thinking today about loving ourselves for who we are as individuals. I think it is SO important in life to accept yourself because if you can't do that then who else will? So the quote below goes out to all my friends, family and followers who sometimes think they don't like themselves for exactly who they are. You are you, and you are AMAZING.
"I am Me. In all the world, there is no one else exactly like me. Everything that comes out of me is authentically mine, because I alone chose it -- I own everything about me: my body, my feelings, my mouth, my voice, all my actions, whether they be to others or myself. I own my fantasies, my dreams, my hopes, my fears. I own my triumphs and successes, all my failures and mistakes. Because I own all of me, I can become intimately acquainted with me. By so doing, I can love me and be friendly with all my parts. I know there are aspects about myself that puzzle me, and other aspects that I do not know -- but as long as I am friendly and loving to myself, I can courageously and hopefully look for solutions to the puzzles and ways to find out more about me. However I look and sound, whatever I say and do, and whatever I think and feel at a given moment in time is authentically me. If later some parts of how I looked, sounded, thought, and felt turn out to be unfitting, I can discard that which is unfitting, keep the rest, and invent something new for that which I discarded. I can see, hear, feel, think, say, and do. I have the tools to survive, to be close to others, to be productive, and to make sense and order out of the world of people and things outside of me. I own me, and therefore, I can engineer me. I am me, and I am Okay.”
Last week my girls from my previous job got together to cook dinner and watch Love Actually. SO romantic right hahaha! The highlight of the night was peppermint ice cream ahhhhhhh who doesn’t love that yummy goodness around the holidays? Love Actually is hands down the greatest movie ever made-easily! It is such a feel-good sweet movie and if you haven’t seen it, then that should be your goal for this holiday season!
The biggest aspect that I notice in the movie is how everyone’s lives are intertwined which gets me on the topic of six degrees of separation. For folks who don’t know what six degrees of separation, it is the theory that everyone in the world is separated from everyone else by six people. With all the social media out there now that makes it so easy to connect with people, have you ever noticed how creepy it is that we all have mutual friends and connections in life? I think the world is entirely too small!! I think my favorite instance is: A girl went to my college, University of Tampa for a year or two and transferred to a college in California; while she was there she became friends with a guy that I went to high school with that moved out there. STRANGE how everyone is connected right? What are the odds of that happening?
If you haven’t heard of it, you SO need to check it out! The blog is written by the amazing Lauren Conrad, Kristen Ess and Amy Nadine. The site is so amazing because they give you beauty tips and tricks and tutorials on hairstyles. Who doesn’t love a good tutorial!? The site features tutorials, hair, makeup, obsessions, inspirations and this or that. I hope you will become as obsessed as I am.
I wanted to share her site because she really helps with hairstyle tutorials and today I wanted to show you some of my favorite holiday hairstyles for this year!
Ok so I’m pretty obsessed with penguins. #1 they are super cute #2 they are very smart #3 they’re romantic and mate for life #4 they can’t fly. I mean how can you not be obsessed? I have yet to go, but the Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut actually has a great activity that lets you interact with penguins. … and by interact I mean sit in a circle with 10 other people while a penguin walks among us- yes THAT interactive! AMAZINGGGG!
• Penguins are social creatures. • They adapt to various climates. • They live in large colonies called rookeries. • Penguins communicate with each other through body language. • They spend most of their lives in water. • They don’t fear humans but are endangered by oil spills, water pollution, and the over harvesting of ocean fish. • Their body is insulated with a thick layer of blubber that keeps them warm. • They can walk faster than humans. • They can hold their breath for about 20 minutes under water. • They have more feathers per square inch that keeps them warm in frigid waters. • They are counter-shaded for camouflage. • Baby penguins have soft feathers known as down. • They count on their parents for food until they grow up with waterproof juvenile feathers. • They pick up stones and store them in their crop. This helps them to float when they are in water. • They can control blood flow through fat. • Rockhopper penguins have very loud calls. • Penguins don't fly, they swim. • They are warm blooded like humans. • When mothers lose a chick, they steal another mother’s chick. • They are mostly found below the equator. • Penguins have short legs and no knees. • They have good arrangement of bones in hand. This makes them flexible. • Their knees and upper legs are covered with feathers. • When the salt storage completely fills the gland, penguins go to a rock and knock his beak. This allows him to empty the salt content. • Male penguins take care of their chicks. • They feed on fish, cephalopods and krill. • Penguins swallow their food as a whole. • They have a variety of bill shapes. • Giant petrels and leopard seals are enemies of penguins. • The name is derived from Welsh terms ‘pen’, meaning head and ‘gwyn’, meaning white. • Penguin is an unofficial symbol of the United States Libertarian Party. • They mate for life. • They are ancient species that appeared 40 million years ago in the Eocene. • They usually move in huge groups. • Most penguins can swim about 15 miles per hour. • Penguins open their feather to feel the cold. • There are at least 18 different species of penguins. • There may be as many as 100 million penguins in the world. www.penguinfacts.net
One of the things I LOVE about music is how an old throwback can still make you smile! So today I wanted to share one of my oldies that I am STILL in love with. I randomly heard it on the radio this weekend so I thought I'd post today! It makes me happy when I hear an old song and I can instantly be transported back to the good ol' days!
Corinne Bailey Rae- Put Your Records On.....Hope you enjoy as much as I do!
xox always- Linds
Lyrics:
Three little birds, sat on my window.
And they told me I don't need to worry.
Summer came like cinnamon
So sweet,
Little girls double-dutch on the concrete.
Maybe sometimes, we've got it wrong, but it's alright
The more things seem to change, the more they stay the same
Oh, don't you hesitate.
Girl, put your records on, tell me your favorite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.
You're gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow.
Blue as the sky, sunburnt and lonely,
Sipping tea in a bar by the roadside,
(just relax, just relax)
Don't you let those other boys fool you,
Got to love that afro hair do.
Maybe sometimes, we feel afraid, but it's alright
The more you stay the same, the more they seem to change.
Don't you think it's strange?
Girl, put your records on, tell me your favorite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.
You're gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow.
Was more than I could take, pity for pity's sake
Some nights kept me awake, I thought that I was stronger
When you gonna realize, that you don't even have to try any longer?
Do what you want to.
Girl, put your records on, tell me your favorite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.
Girl, put your records on, tell me your favorite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Hope you all had a wonderfully relaxing weekend! Quick recap of my weekend: Friday I had yummy sushi with my Katelyn who I haven't seen in forever and then watched Starving Secrets with my friend and neighbor Jen. The second eipisode of Starving Secrets was SOO SOOOO GOOD, if you didn't get a chance to watch, check out http://www.mylifetime.com/shows/starving-secrets-with-tracey-gold/video to watch it online. Saturday, I went to my Chiro in the morning and then spent most of the day with my friend Aisling and her adorable baby Grace, did some Christmas shopping and visited my Nana. Sunday I hung out at home with Seth and made chili- yum yum yum and watched a lot of television with Loki!
Monday mornings are always insane for me and today is no different! This week in general is going to be CRAZY so I'm glad I got to relax a bit over the weekend! I have work events Mon-Wed this week so it's going to be a long but fun week woohoo. Then next week my sissy comes home and we have Christmas YAY- this fall has flown by.... I am amazed!
On to your Monday morning video as usual!
I'm sure MANY of you have seen Mishka the talking Husky on Youtube, but how many of you know that she stars in a commercial? Click the video below to see the commercial and then watch Mishka's reaction to seeing herself on the television. A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E, can't even stand it, she is the cutest dog! If you need a smile this Monday morning, be sure to check out all her other cute videos on Youtube!
Sadly, this video by Molli was posted on Youtube yesterday. Molli is 18 years old and attends my old High School Masconomet. She was beaten and bullied by 4 other teens that attend Masco for being bi-sexual. Not only was she kicked and punched but called derogatory names and well as being told to kill herself and leave school. THIS IS NOT OK ON SO MANY LEVELS.
Please reach out to her and show her some love that she DESERVES so much!
I’m not going to lie….for a few years things were really rough, especially the first few years in the working world. You go through high school and think it’s horrible… BECAUSE IT IS, and then college is amazing and fun and you’re constantly around people and then you graduate and leave them. Most people move back in with their parents so they don’t have to pay rent. Now you’re in a job working 40+ hours a week and a job you reallllllly don’t want to do but you need to take it to get experience and make money. But then miraculously, SUDDENLY down the line everything clicks into place. It doesn’t mean it will be tomorrow or 2 years down the road or 5. Every individual is different, but please remember everything happens for a reason. Bad things happen so you can learn from them to become stronger and love who you are even more.
I just turned 28, and things finally fell into place for me. My path was a long one but at this point I am sincerely happy with every aspect of my life. I work for Rue La La, one of the only fashion companies in Boston, I’m in love with a wonderful guy, I have two adorable puppies, I pay cheap rent in Southie for a pretty enormous place, I have a blog where I try to make people smile, and take initiative in the world, especially with random acts of kindness, I have amazing friends and family and I am just simply HAPPY. This is my wish for you… to be happy.
Your story makes me so sad. I’m sorry that you have been bullied and that people have treated you as horribly as they have. NO ONE deserves that, especially not people who are trying to be ok with who they are. I think you’ll learn as you get older that yes, unfortunately some people will not accept you for who you are because they are so stuck in their ways BUT then you will meet some absolutely amazing people who will love you for you regardless if you are gay straight or bi and take you for every bit of who you are. Please read my love is love blog, hopefully it will make you smile! http://www.littlesparksofmadness.com/2011/10/love-is-love.html oh and also this one about a great project Fear vs. Dreams by To Write Love on Her Arms: http://www.littlesparksofmadness.com/2011/09/to-write-love-on-her-arms.html
I hope that you find loving supportive people around you who can help you with your cutting and depression. My sister had an eating disorder for 10 years and last January went into treatment. What I can say about that is, I know you are hurting and this is how you are coping, but coming from a sibling who has seen their sister struggle, it is hard for your loved ones to watch that because we just want you to be happy. I hope you get a lot of love back from your video because it is so brave of you to post what you have been going through. Loving who you are and accepting yourself exactly the way you are takes time. When you feel the pressures of society telling you that you need to look a certain way, act a certain way, be a certain way. It’s hard to ever feel amazing and beautiful. However, most people out there- feel exactly the way you do. So remember to, “Be kind for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle”
A few quotes for you
“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”
“Courage does not always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow.”
“Make one person happy each day even if its yourself”
“Photography taught me to see the beauty in the human body. Hands and collarbones and spines and jawlines. And next time somebody doubts that they are beautiful, they should remember that we are all the same, with hands and collar bones and spines and lovely jawlines. But different in a way that makes each of us even more beautiful.”
It gets better; it always gets better, so much more amazingly wonderfully better. I promise.
Afternoon lovelies! Today I'd like to start off by reminding everyone to be grateful of what we have... all the little things, because sometimes more often than not, we let the little things that we're happy about slip by and we forget how many amazing memories we have, how many amazing people are in our lives and the things we are truly grateful for.
Remember to love those who treat you right because they are the ones who know who we truly are and love us regardless of any and all flaws we have. They have a peek into the window of our soul, and we need to cherish them! I'm going to leave you with one of my all time favorite quotes!
When I say, "I love you," it's not because I want you
or because I can't have you. It has nothing to do with me.
I love what you are, what you do, how you try.
I've seen your kindness and your strength.
I've seen the best and worst of you.
And I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are.
I know I've talked about Random Acts of Kindness in the past but one blog I found takes this to a whole new level and I can’t wait to share it with you!!!! All I can say about this blog is that it moved me. It made me want to make people smile and laugh, especially anonymously to those in need of an extra dose of love. I can’t think of a better “revolution.” I stumbled across the blog, You Are Remarkable and I was moved to tears. What these people are doing is amazing and truly REMARKABLE!!! All the links to the Blog/Fb/Twitter are below, please check them out!
I signed up yesterday to send a little love to strangers. I can’t wait to get my addresses and stories so I can start writing!!!! You never know how much you can impact a person’s life, so why not attempt at making someone smile?
For any of you who know me, you realize I eat/sleep/breathe fashion. It just makes me happy. So it’s probably no surprise to you that I teamed up with my friend Sally to help her promote her line of arm warmers. She is a WONDERFUL person and creates beautiful up-cycled cashmere arm warmers for adults and kids. Sally currently lives in Amsterdam and in Marblehead, MA and sells her amazing creations online at http://www.iheartarmwarmers.com/ in addition to selling at home parties and all over the US at different events and shows. I Heart Armwarmers was shown at the Earth Day show in Santa Barbara, The Project Hope: Strut for a Cure fashion show and the SOWA open market in the South End of Boston just to name a few!
If you have any questions about pricing/sizing or hosting a home party just let me know! (You can reach me at Lindsay@littlesparksofmadness.com) Definitely stop by and like her Facebook page and follow her on twitter!

I hope you all had a FAN-TAS-TIC weekend!!! I was running around like crazy but had a lovely weekend with my Iron Mountain girls!
Friday night Em and Laura came over to watch Starving Secrets with me. I'm so glad they were with me for the premier of the show! I am so very excited that the show came out, and I'm really hoping people can be impacted by the show, however it worries me that each girl only has half an episode. Did you watch- what did you think? I'm curious to hear people's thoughts!
Before the show came on Seth let us know that he had an ugly sweater party for work on Saturday (he works 3 Saturday's a year) So instead of buying one the two time champs of Iron Mountain's Halloween costumes decided to go all out and MAKE Sethers the most ridiculous sweater ever. We were able to work on it for about 30 mins before the show came on with the girls and then I stayed up until about 1am sewing the finishing details on hahaha! Enjoy the picture below!
Saturday night we went to Sarah's Holiday party down in Hull and had SO much fun and then Sunday we all got together at Emily's house and cooked and watched Home Alone, I mean how can you not be obsessed with a relaxing weekend like that?!
So on to my funny Monday morning video.... I'm not sure if any of you have seen this but I am slightly obsessed with the video of Ellen scaring Taylor Swift before her show. Please enjoy as much as I do... every time I watch it hahah!!!!
We all made it through another week- yay!! I hope you all have some fun plans for the weekend whether it is relaxing with friends or family, holiday parties or taking a bubble bath and watching good movie.
I got to thinking about jobs/friends and life. At every job I move to I take some specific items with me that remind me of home because when you work 40+ hours a week you realize it truly is your second home. When I was in Florida for school I was homesick so my best friend Alaina sent me a trinket of Winnie the Pooh that says, “Friendship,” said Pooh, “is a very comforting sort of thing.” So I have that on my desk with pictures of Seth&I, my sissy&I and my little munchkin Kali. I have a whiteboard at my desk so obviously I put a fashion quote on it- “Fashion is not something that exist in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street. Fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening” –Coco Chanel. I also have two magnets that I bring with me that say “wherever you are it is your friends who make your world…” and the Apache Blessing which is my favorite.
On that note, this is my wish for all of you today:
May the sun
Bring you new energy by day.
May the moon
Softly restore you by night.
May the rain
Wash away your worries.
May the breeze
Blow new strength into your being.
May you walk
Gently through the world and know
Its beauty all the days of your life.
I hope these pictures make you as happy as they made me today!
